Girls Hockey Director & Girls 14U Head Coach

The Ohio AAA Blue Jackets are currently hiring for the newly created position of Girls Hockey Director and Girls 14U Head Coach as the program will be adding a 14U AAA girls team for the 2022-23 season.

Responsibilities include
- Complete any necessary CEP modules through USA Hockey
- Complete the USA Hockey Background Check and SafeSport program
- Oversee creation and implementation of player and family recruitment program
- Build relationships with prospective players and families
- Lead team selections for the girls teams
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with local programs in the area to identify upcoming
- girls who are playing hockey
- Be an active participant in helping grow the girls game at the grassroots levels in Columbus
- Develop relationships with college programs and promote the girls players to colleges and
- universities
- Coordinating a competitive girls game and tournament schedules
- Work with Hockey Director on season practice schedules
- Assist in equipment sizing, ordering and distribution
- Plan and implement practice plans
- Observe program practices, help mentor coaches, and create a feedback loop for
- improvement
- Become visible on social media
- Work with bookkeeper to process expense reports and travel expenses
- Assist in various fundraising activities
- Participate in long term planning and development of the girls and boys program
- Help to maintain and promote development, respect, discipline, effort, teamwork and
- excellence within the Ohio AAA Blue Jackets, both on and off the ice
- Effectively and respectfully communicate with coaches, staff, players, parents, referees,
- fans, media and community members
- Conduct parent meetings at tryouts to educate players and parents, discuss tryouts,
- philosophies and goals
- Conduct meetings with coaches several times a year to ensure the girls program is
- implementing the proper development philosophies in conjunction with USA Hockey
- Answer emails and calls to answer questions about program or players
- Constant communication with program management while being ahead of any issues
- Follow through on all other assigned administrative tasks
- Ability to work nights and weekends
- Other duties as assigned by the President
Requirements needed:
This unique position requires ability to recruit, develop and mentor girls and boys and provide an excellent on-ice instruction experience.

- The following qualifications are required when applying for this position:
- Past amateur, collegiate, international and/or professional hockey playing experience
- Current instructional and/or coaching experience at the amateur, collegiate,
- international, or professional levels
- Eligibility to work in the United States
- The following qualifications are considered assets when applying for this position:
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Past business operations/organizational experience, hockey-related preferred
- Salary will be competitive and commensurate with experience
