Hoening tenders with Minnesota Mallards

18U forward Cohen Hoening has signed a tender with the Minnesota Mallards (NAHL) for the 2025-26 season.
A smart and skilled forward with a great shot, Hoening has been a consistent offensive threat throughout his youth hockey career. This season, he leads the 18U team in scoring with 31 goals and 50 points in 38 games. In 2023-24, he paced the 16U squad with a 21-28-49 line in 57 games played. In all, Hoening has played 8 seasons in the program. He joins fellow teammates Owen Case (Shreveport) and Mitchell Reid (Colorado) on the NAHL tender list.
“Cohen has put together an impressive season to date and has earned an opportunity at the next level," said 18U head coach Nate Handrahan. "On top of being a scoring threat each game, he is a great teammate and competitor. We are all excited to see him take the next step.”
Celebrating its 50th season in 2024-25, the NAHL, the only USA Hockey-sanctioned Tier II Junior league boasting 35 teams teams in 20 states from across North America. The NAHL is part of the USA Hockey National Junior Development Model, which includes the USHL and the US National Team Development Program. The NAHL works closely with NCAA College Hockey, the NHL, the USHL, and USA Hockey's National Development Program in order best serve as an imperative piece in the development system for collegiate and professional hockey.
