OBJ to host Mid Am District Tournament this weekend

The road the USA Hockey's National Tournament begins this weekend as the AAA Blue Jackets serve as the host of the MidAm District Tournament for the 13O, 14U, 15O, 16U and 18U boys at OhioHealth Chiller North. The championship includes the top 6 rated teams in the district at each level. The winner from each age group will advance to the National Tournament at the end of March.

The AAA Blue Jackets and Pittsburgh Pens Elite are the only two organizations to qualify at all 5 levels in the district tournament. Other organizations participating include the Cleveland Barons (14U, 15O, 16U, 18U), Culver Military Academy (16U, 18U), Fort Wayne Force (13O), Gilmour Academy (16U, 18U), Indiana Elite (14U), Pittsburgh Predators (13O, 15O), Pittsburgh Stars (13O, 14U, 18U), Pittsburgh Vengeance (13O, 14U), PHA Icemen (15O) and South Hills Panthers (15O, 16U)

The program's 14U girls and 16U girls teams will also be participating in the MidAm District Tournament in Pittsburgh, PA this weekend. The 14U girls team will play a district championship game vs. Pittsburgh Pens Elite this Sunday, while the 16U Girls team will compete against Pens Elite and Culver for the opportunity to advance to Nationals.
