Program announces addition of 12U and 16U girls teams

The Ohio AAA Blue Jackets have announced the addition of two teams to the girls program for the 2023-2024 season. The girls will field 16U and 12U Tier 1 AAA teams in addition to the current 14U Tier 1 team that launched in the Spring of 2022. The newly formed 16U team will move into a permanent locker room at Chiller North and join the 14U team as a national bound team that will compete at the highest level in the MidAm district.

“We are thrilled to see the continued growth of girls hockey in central Ohio. When this program was created, one of the most important things was to create a pathway for girls through AAA hockey here in Columbus,” said girls hockey director Kerry Bowman. “As we complete our first season with the 14U team, and with the tremendous support of the organization and local hockey community, we feel this is the time to grow and offer the development opportunities to these girls as they progress through youth hockey and our program.”

Tryouts for all teams will be held on April 29-30, 2023. Registration will open soon and head coaching assignments will be announced no later than March 6. All details will be available on the AAA Girls page.
