Program supports Big 10 Toy Drive

Friday, December 8, 2023

This week, all 11 teams in the organization worked together to collect and donate toys to support the local Big 10 Toy Drive. 18U players and head coach Darryl Noren delivered more than 400 toys to the Big 10 Toy Parade on behalf of all AAA Blue Jacket families.

In partnership with WBNS-10TV, the Blue Jackets are asking fans to support The Salvation Army of Central Ohio's efforts to brighten the holidays for local families in need. The Salvation Army operates central Ohio's largest holiday toy and food distribution program. They provide food and toys to nearly 8,000 families over a two-day period. Christmas Cheer provides a true holiday experience for families that may need a little help this time of year. The toy drive gives that program a big boost by offering the 5th Line a chance to provide the toys the Salvation Army will give away in its Christmas Cheer program in mid-December.

Fans coming to the December 8th game against the St. Louis Blues or December 10th against the Florida Panthers are encouraged to bring a new, unwrapped toy. Before the game, toys will be accepted by volunteers outside the arena entrances. Fans who donate that night will receive a voucher redeemable for a pair of tickets to an upcoming home game. (Offer limited to one per household).

If fans are not able to attend the game they can drop off toys from November 16 to December 10 at any OhioHealth Chiller Ice Rink located in Easton, Dublin, and North or at the Blue Line stores located at Nationwide Arena and Polaris Fashion Place.
